For USDA NOP application please consider NOP policy 4009 about subcontracted units (Q&A on who needs to be certified): Each
certified operation must have its own organic certificate (certificates can’t be “shared” by multiple operations)

Compliance with the terms of the U.S. – Canada Organic Equivalency Arrangement (USCOEA) allows a USDA-NOP organic product to be

Large farmers are those whose external certification cost would be less than 2% of their turnover. For more information, please contact
your local CU office.

Property rights: According to NOP 4009 a certified operator may produce agricultural products on leased land or process agricultural
products using leased facilities or equipment. Leased units can be included in the certificate, if the applicant is 100% responsible of all the
management of the leased/rented unit during the leasing/renting period.

Subcontracting units: In case of EU organic certification an operator can contract out any of the activities to a third party in accordance
with 834/2007/EC Article 28 and 889/2008/EC Article 86. For USDA NOP the client can use subcontracting units, but only if it is individually
certified.

“Management responsibility”: For NOP applicant, this column is not mandatory, while for EU organic applicants it is mandatory to declare
whether the applicant remains responsible for the subcontracted activities. Please fill out “applicant” if you remains responsible for the
activities. Otherwise, please mention “subcontractor” if the subcontractor has an individual certificate and is responsible for the organic
production.

“Certified”: This column is mandatory for NOP applicant. For EU organic, this column is only mandatory if the subcontracting unit(s) is
managed under the responsibility of the subcontractor.

international airport.
For our orientation please attach a basic overview map where all the units are indicated
thus draft logistics can be estimated.

6. Please note that if the applicant company is seated in an EU member state and its
project is in a non-EU country its valid EU organic certificate must be maintained to
ensure the full chain will be covered11.
7. Along with this signed application form please attach (pdf) copy of the registration at
the Chamber of Commerce of your company.
