2 Read Gail’s blog about her cousin’s wedding.

GAIL TOBEY – MY UNUSUAL FAMILY

Will people get married in the future? Will they have big
parties? If they do, where will they have them? Maybe
people will have wedding celebrations on top of mountains
or even in hot-air balloons in the sky. Perhaps they will
celebrate under the ocean.
Actually, some people are already having celebrations in
unusual locations. In fact, next week, I’m going to my cousin and dive under the ocean. Will my whole family participate
Emily’s wedding celebration and the ceremony is going to
be under the sea.
How did Emily think of such a strange idea? Last year, she
read about an unusual wedding online. The bride, groom
and guests rode bikes during the ceremony and they
celebrated the wedding around the city. Emily decided that
she wanted an unusual wedding, too, but she can’t ride a
bike. So, she surfed the web for ideas. Then she read
about another unusual wedding near Crete. The bride and
groom were Maria Obryvalina and Renat Adykov and their
ceremony was under water in the Libyan Sea. Of course,
they didn’t talk during the ceremony. Instead, they carried
messages of love. Emily thought that was a great idea, so
she decided to do the same on the coast of Cornwall!
When we received the invitations, we didn’t believe it. The
bride, groom and guests aren’t going to wear suits and
dresses for the ceremony. They’re going to wear wetsuits
in this unusual ceremony? My brother will definitely want
to. He loves diving. If my parents let me, I will go, too. My
parents will probably be afraid to go under the ocean.
People can’t eat and dance under water, so after the
ceremony, there will probably be a party on the beach. If
I know Emily, the food will be delicious and the party will be
really fun. I’m sure there will be shrimp because that’s
Emily’s favourite food. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to shrimp,
but there will definitely be other options. If I’m lucky, they
will serve chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. That’s
my favourite!
