1) Which of the theories mentioned do you consider as the most probable? Why?

- For me, I consider The “bow-wow” theory as the most probable between the two
theories because in this theory says, that human language may have originated
from the imitation of sounds made by animals such as the barking of a dog and
the crowing of a chicken, as well as the sounds of nature such as the wind and
raindrops. It also says that because humans are only primitive, they only follow
the things they hear. If we observe, we can see this theory in adolescents or
infants who are just learning to pronounce his/her first words. The reason children
are able to speak is because of the imitation of sounds.
2) If you were to come up with your own theory on the origin of language, what
would that be? Name your theory and expound it.
- If I were to come up a theory about the origin of language, I would name it The
"hey-hey hoo-hoo" theory. Since the theory of human evolution is said to have
originated in the race of apes, so human learning of language is the same as
theirs. An important finding about primate language is that the chimps use signs
to refer to natural language categories. For example, the chimps use one sign
signifying "dog" to refer to all dogs. This category generalization is similar to that
of children as they first begin learning to speak. Chimpanzees have also shown
that they are able to create novel signs by combining signs to convey a
metaphorically different concept.
