Panties

Recommended fabrics: fabrics with elastic fibers or knits.


You will need: cotton knit, another color (contrasting) cotton knit for
trim.

Attention! Fabric consumption varies depending on the size of


garment. First of all, print out paper patterns and lay them out at the
width of fabric/ knit you plan to use, to see how much fabric you will
need.

When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches- they must


coincide.

Cutting:
Shell:
1. Front Part - 1 piece
2. Back Part - 1 piece
3. Gusset - 2 pieces

Trim Fabric:
4. Waistband - 1 piece
5. Leg Opening Facing - 2 pieces

Instructions:
1. Line up Gussets face-to-face, inserting Back Part in between, and sew
all three layers together. Line up Front Part with bottom/outer Gusset
face-to-face, sew together. Turn under allowance at the top/inside
Gusset, hand-sew with invisible stitches to the Front Part.

2. Sew each Leg Opening Facing short ends together, to form a ring.
Line up raw edge of Facing with raw edge of leg opening, face-to-face,
baste and stitch together. Turn the Facing to the wrong side, forming a
piping, turn under raw edge of Facing at the wrong side, baste. Stitch in
the ditch of previous leg opening seam to attach back side of Facing to
the panties.
3. Line up short ends of Waistband face-to-face, stitch ends together.
Line up raw edge of Waistband with raw waist edge of panties, baste
and stitch together at waist seam. Turn the Waistband back to the
wrong side, forming a piping, turn under raw edge, baste to Waistband.
Stitch in the ditch of waist seam to attach back of Waistband.
