Data Gathering Procedure

The data collection procedure will begin immediately as the title is approved. The researcher will
begin collecting secondary sources of data for the literature and will do both foreign and domestic
research. The survey tool will be prepared when the research instrument has been finalized and
approved based on the problem description. They sent the questionnaire to the adviser for editing and
additional feedback. The questionnaire was created by the researchers themselves, and a dry run was
performed to validate the questionnaire. The researchers sought permission from the subject
instructor to conduct the study. The researchers obtained authorization from the Senior High School
Coordinator and drafted letters in order to carry out the study.

The primary research instrument is a survey questionnaire. The questionnaire contains questions
about the psychological effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Bicol College grade 12 HUMSS
students. The questionnaire responses of the responders will be kept strictly secret.

Statistical Treatment Applied

Because of its applicability to the nature of the data to be examined, the data to be collected
will be statistically analyzed using the Slovin's Formula.
Slovin's Formula is a statistical method used to calculate the sample size required to attain a
certain confidence interval while sampling a population.
Table 1
Strand Population Size Sample
HUMSS - Leo 44 25
HUMSS – Pisces 44 25
Total 48 46.8, Approx. 47

Formula:
N
n=
1+ N e 2

Where: N = Total Population Given: N = 88

e = Margin of Error e = 10% or 0.1
n = Sample size n = 46.8
