Due to the fact that the keys of E-Flat, C-Minor, A-Flat and F Minor are seldom found in classic literature they should be given much attention. They are beautiful keys to work in and much modern music is written in these keys. Master each position before proceeding to the next. Employ as much supplementary material as deemed necessary to keep the interest high as some of the studies will require time for full development. THE POSITIONS The next goal of the student will be the complete mastery of all positions. The material contained in this book will help the student attoin that geal, Our first chapter deals with the SECOND POSITION. The SECOND POSITION extends from the second to the fifth frets. In the SECOND POSITION: The first finger will cover the second fret. The second finger will cover the third fret. The third finger will cover the fourth fret. This is referred to as “cut” time.
