based non-governmental organization (NGO) in rural Maharashtra.

Nature of work?
(1) Develop technologies for rural areas using sophisticated S&T tools.
(2) Be a part of producing national and state policies on renewable energy
and sustainable development.

Who can apply?

Brilliant young engineers/scientist and future leaders who want to be
involved in nation building and providing a better life to 60% of rural poor.
Basic requirements are B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science,
etc. M.Tech and Ph.D’s are also welcome.

The candidates should be willing to do work with their hands since our
focus is hardware development. So they should have a flair of designing and
developing hardware projects.

How many do we need?

2-3 persons.

For how long?

From 6 months to two years. For interns this can be a short-term
assignment. I can assure you that it will be a wonderful experience to work
and live in a rural India. Later on wherever you work (either in corporate
sector or abroad) you will always look at this experience with fondness and
will help enrich your future work.

When do we need you? Immediately.

What will you get?

This is more in the nature of volunteer work. Hence, we will offer you a free
place to stay plus a decent stipend which will be enough to keep your body
and soul together!

This experience is not for those who consider this as another job. This
is not a job but a mission.

Whom will you work with?

You will directly work with Anil K. Rajvanshi, the Director of the Institute.
Anil is:
• B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from I.I.T. Kanpur (1972 graduate).
• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Florida, U.S.A.
• Winner of Jamnalal Bajaj Award in 2001
• Winner of FICCI Platinum Jubilee Award 2002
• Winner of Globe Award (Stockholm) 2009
• Distinguished Alumnus Award from University of Florida – the first
Indian to get this honor.
• Notable Alumni of IIT, Kanpur.
• Awarded Padma Shri by Government of India in 2022.
