bargain /ˈbɑːrɡən/
➢ (n.) something on sale at a lower price than its true value
便宜货
e.g. This coat on sale is a real bargain.

➢ (n.) an agreement between two people or groups in which each


promises to do something in exchange for something else

e.g. “I’ll clean the kitchen if you clean the car.” “OK, it’s a bargain.”

windfall /ˈwɪndfɔːl/
an amount of money that you win or receive from someone
unexpectedly

Dialog (4 mins)

Role-play the dialog with your teacher twice, and learn the highlighted expressions by heart.

Bookseller: 80 yuan.

for four books. That would be my final offer.
Emma: Alright. That’s a bargain.
Bookseller: You’ve got a windfall!
