-Hi, dear listeners.

Today we are going to have a podcast with an

intriguing guest. Her name is Ann and she is an environmental crime
investigator. Nowadays the topic of pollution is actively discussed and
becoming more and more popular. That is why we are going to talk with
Ann about her occupation. Hello, Ann. Thanks for joining us today.

- Hello, Marie. Thank you for having me on here, and I hope to answer
all your questions.

-Please tell us a little about environmental crime. Is it just when you are
rummaging through oozing sacks? What is it in a simple way? I want our
listeners to understand it and to be more acknowledged about this topic.

- People have always been treating the environment as if it is something

that does not concern them. However, only over time did such a term as
environmental crime appear. Environmental crime is an illegal act which
directly harms the environment. The things you’ve mentioned are
definitely the examples of environmental crimes.

-Ann, could you provide some examples of environmental concerns that

should be reported to state and local authorities? Coz I have neighbors
who seem so well-ordered during chit-chats but then you see some
obstructions near their pavements and it bugbears me

- There are lots of cases, which are usual for some people, however are
considered illegal regarding our environment and law. A stinking heap of
fizzy drinks cans in knotted carried bags with the thick stench, dumped
shed, dirty food and nappies onto a pavement are instances of such a
crime. When the evidence is sound enough, it leads to a prosecution
and reclaims considerable cost.

-Yeah, and now I know what to do with those tenants. They will not be
able to disown it anymore. Thank you for your explanations. Now our
listeners would like to get a little bit of some personal information. What
is your attitude towards the people who dispose of the heaps of trash
anywhere?
- Personally, I don’t like judging. Nevertheless, it’s easy to get nervous
and even go wild sometimes, seeing offenders, who are compleately
conscious about their acts still continuing in this way.

-What are the negative repercussions of not punishing culprits? Would

the boroughs turn into the landfill full of collapsed bags?

- From the pessimistic and realistic points of view, it seems so. Despite
this, there is hope for education and parentinig to save our planet and
thus, to save us.

-Yes, we all have hope and take action for that. Thank you so much for
sharing the information with us.

- Thank you. I was glad to be here.
