The Very Hungry Caterpillar

1: In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.


2: One Sunday morning the warm sun came up...
3: and POP, out of the egg came a tiny, very hungry
caterpillar.
4: He started looking for some food.
5: On Monday he ate through one apple. But he was still
hungry.
1: On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still
hungry.
2: On Wednesday he ate through three plums, but he was still
hungry.
3: On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was
still hungry.
4: On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still
hungry.
5: On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake,
1. One ice-cream cone,
2: One pickle,
3: One slice of Swiss cheese,
4: One slice of salami,
5: One lollipop,
1: One piece of cherry pie,
2: One sausage,
3: One cupcake,
4: And one slice of watermelon.
5: That night he had a stomach ache!
1: The next day was Sunday again.
2: The caterpillar ate through one nice leaf, and after that
he felt better.
3: Now he wasn't hungry anymore--and he wasn't a little
caterpillar anymore.
4: He was a big fat caterpillar.
5: He built a small house,
1: Called a cocoon,
2: Around himself.
3: He stayed inside for more than two weeks.
4: Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out
and...
ALL: He became a beautiful butterfly!
