1. Define Communication.
- Communication is the act of sharing and receiving any message of information, whether it is
verbal or non-verbal, an interaction between two or many individuals.
2. What is the Nature of Communication?

- Communication is an ongoing process. In order for the message to be effectively shared with the
person, both must be on the same page in communication and comprehend the intended meaning of
the message sent. Misunderstanding can occur when there is a fault in the interaction.

3. What are the Elements of Communication?

Elements of Communication:

1. Sender – Encodes the message that will be sent to the receiver, intentionally or unintentionally.

2. Message – The thought or idea that is to be delivered. It can be verbal or non-verbal depending on
the situation.

3. Channel – The medium being used to reach the receiver. It can be face to face interaction, sound,
written on a piece of paper or through gadgets like handheld devices and computers.

4. Noise – Anything that can disrupt communication can distract and cause the message to be
misunderstood or incorrectly decoded.

5. Circumstances – The gist or context of the situation. A message must be appropriate for both the
communicator and the recipient.

6. Receiver – Decodes the message sent by the sender/encoder and can give feedback about the
message sent.

7. Feedback – Is the response of the receiver after decoding the message from the sender. It serves
the purpose that it acknowledges the encoder and the message were sent.
