PREFACE

Patient / family care study involves the collection of data from patient by using the problem solving

approach to find out patient’s problems, the causes of the problems and to render a better nursing care to

the patient using the nursing process approach. It involves detailed written account of the nursing care

rendered to the client and his family. It also includes the interaction between the patient, family,

community and the health team.

The patient / family care study helps the student nurse to be well equipped with certain information of a

particular disease through continuous approach. It also provides an opportunity for the student nurse to

apply the acquired nursing care and skills in his or her training.
