W12 Annotated Reading "Heart and Mind"

The details or insights that really stuck out to me was:

 It has lots of natural and tangible details. For example: "She set quietly for

perhaps 10 or 15 seconds, then her eyes flew open, clear and wild." I can easily

imagine the situation.

 The abstract details it has a lot of information. For example, the reasons why the

daughter threw dirt on her brother's hair. "Saying she is in first grade means she

is stupid. He was calling her stupid."

How does the author show she’s aware of you as her reader?

 The author shares personal information about her, but more than that, she shares

thoughtful insights that make the readers think about what she discovered

through her experience. Also, she said: "I have wondered for years about the

Spirit testifying of all truth. While I wearied the Lord in college, begging Him to

help me remember what I studied..." It gives the impression that the author is

talking to someone, in this case, the readers.
