4
Setup Your ihc iHome
After signing in for the first time, set up your home in Me. Name your home and select a photo
for easy recognition.

Set up your Universal Remote

Power on your Universal Remote using the USB cable and power adapter provided. If it is the
first time that the Universal Remote is being used, the blue Wi-Fi LED will flash rapidly (about 2-

5
3 times per second) indicating that it is in configuration mode (waiting to be added to a network).

If it is not the first time that the Universal Remote is in use, configuration mode may not work
automatically. In this case, please insert a needle into the designated reset button keyhole, press
and hold, for at least 6 seconds until the blue Wi-Fi LED flashes rapidly (about 2-3 times per
second).

Add Device
This section shows you how to add the Universal Remote as a device in the ihc App.

In the App, select Add device or in Devices, select +.Scan the bar code on the packaging or
tap Add by categories to select the category and model manually. In Universal Remotes, select
RM pro.

6
Check the Wi-Fi name and input its password. Tap Next so that the Universal Remote will be
added as a device. The process may take 20-60 seconds, depending on network conditions.
Once the configuration is completed, the blue Wi-Fi LED will flash slowly then turn off, choose a
room for the device and tap Done.

Note:
1. Please keep the device and your phone in good Wi-Fi signal range.
2. A reset can resolve most issues: Reset your Universal Remote by inserting a needle into
the designated reset button keyhole, press and hold, for at least 6 seconds until
the blue Wi-Fi LED flashes rapidly, then repeat the configuration process.

If you fail to configure the Universal Remote using the above method, please tap Try other
methods and follow the in-App wizard to enter AP mode configuration: Insert a needle into the

7
designated reset button keyhole, press and hold the reset button for at least 6 seconds until the
LED indicator flashes rapidly. Repeat this and hold the reset button until the blue LED indicator
flashes slowly at intervals. This indicates that the Universal Remote has entered Wi-Fi AP mode.
Now, connect the Wi-Fi of your Android or iOS device to the Universal Remote’s AP (Wi-Fi name
BroadLinkProv). After connecting, switch back to your home Wi-Fi. Universal Remote will enter
AP mode configuration. It will take around 20-60 seconds, depending on network conditions.
Once configuration is completed, the blue Wi-Fi LED will flash slowly then turn off, choose a
room for the device and tap Done.

8
Add Remote
If it is the first time that the Universal Remote is in use, the ihc App will automatically show
different appliance options for their remote controls to be added. Select the type of appliance
you want to control and add its remote. For example, if you want to add a TV (without a set-
top box), tap TV and select your brand of TV.

9
Now, turn off your TV using its physical remote control and follow the instructions to start
calibrating the physical remote to the ihc App. During the calibration, the Universal Remote will
send several control commands to the appliance and all you have to do is confirm the results.
When the calibration is done, the ihc App will show a remote control panel with buttons mapped
from the physical remote.

If the ihc App learns a button incorrectly during calibration, tap  on the top right corner. Select
Learn from the drop-down menu to re-learn a button. For example, if VOL+ has been incorrectly
learned, tap Learn again on the right of the button of VOL+, the indicator LED will turn orange.
Press VOL+ on the physical remote towards the Universal Remote. The orange indicator LED
will go off, which means the button has been re-learned successfully.

10
If you use your TV alongside a set-top box (STB), then first calibrate the TV remote according
to above steps, as it is necessary to turn the TV on/off before using the STB. Then calibrate the
remote of the STB. Ensure you are in the correct room in the ihc App, tap RM pro, then tap
+. In STB, choose the brand of your STB, input the postcode of your location. Then calibrate
the STB remote following the same steps as when calibrating the TV remote.

11
If you cannot find the brand of your appliance in the list, you can use a “User-defined remote”
to learn the buttons individually. Tap+, the indicator LED will turn orange, please point your
remote to the Universal Remote and press the button on the physical remote to learn. The
orange LED will go off, and the button will have been learned successfully. Name the button
and select an icon for it.
