Summary of Are screens really hurting teens

Smartphones have been mainstream during the start of 2010 thus marking the

beginning of the information and digital era. Smartphones are so common that every

Gen Z owns a smartphone. However, gen z has the highest depression rate and

researchers are trying to look if it is from social media. Researchers denied that eating

potatoes has a negative impact on the teen's mental health. A study was found that

digital technology use was negatively associated with mental health. In adolescent girls,

depressive symptoms predicted greater use of social networking. The debate between

screens and mental health is not yet resolved.
