The bar graph gives information about types of media to receive everyday news, by five age groups in

the year 2011.

It is clear from the bar graph that microblogging was the least popular media to get daily news for all age
groups. Additionally, the majority of adults over 18 years old had everyday news by listening to the
radio, while teenagers aged 10-17 surfed social networking.

For listening to the radio to hear news on a daily basis, the percentage of 18-to-29-year old people was
highest, at just over 91%, whereas the figure for those from 30 to 49 years old was slightly lower, at
about 90%. Meanwhile, 50-to-64-year-olds took up approximately 89%, compared to nearly 85% of
those over 65 years old. By contrast, the rate of people between 10 and 17 years old was lowest, at
roughly 40%.

In terms of surfing social networking to get daily news, the proportions of people who are 10-to-17-
years old and 18-to-29-years old were equal and higher than the others, at around 80%. At the same
time, people aged 30-49, 50-64, and over 65 years old accounted for about 50%, 40%, and 25%
respectively. For reading the microblogging, the percentage of people between 18 and 29 years old was
by far largest, at nearly 25%, while the other age groups ranged from 10% to 20%.
