There are various forms of anxiety. Ranging from generalized anxiety disorder, panic
attacks, to phobias. All of them have different characteristics, and require therapy
and drugs. However, there are actually several things that can be done to relieve
anxiety
In addition to therapy and medication, there are several ways to relieve anxiety that
you can try, when anxiety strikes. Here are the tips:
Inhale deeply for 5 seconds, then hold for 3 seconds, and slowly release for 5
seconds. Do this a few times until it calms down.
Try to refocus on what you are doing. For example, if you're already planning on
cleaning the house, or meeting up with friends, stick with that plan. Silence will only
make anxiety worse.
If the previous activity made you more anxious, you can calm yourself down with a
quiet activity. For example, turn off your cellphone, then do meditation, take a warm
bath, or get a massage, so that the mind relaxes and anxiety subsides. Only after
you have calmed down can you continue with your normal activities.
4.Applying the 3-3-3 Method
Look around yo and name three things. Then, name the three voices that were heard
at that time. Then, name the three body parts, moving them casually. This method
helps relieve anxiety and divert negative thoughts that make you anxious.
Don't forget to eat when anxiety strikes. Because low blood sugar levels due to late
eating can make anxiety worse. Also, make sure to drink enough water, because
dehydration can make the heart beat faster, and of course creat anxiety.
