Past continuous and past simple

Presentation
We often use the past continuous and past simple together:

Past continuous for an action that was in progress in the past.

Past simple for a second action that happened in the past.

She was watching TV when her When he was taking a photo, his While she was doing her homework,

Remember! We use while + past continuous e.g. While she was sleeping, she had a dream.
