In carrying out business activities, of course, you must make optimal use of
production factors or resources, such as raw materials, labor, equipment, etc. to
achieve maximum profit. The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum
benefits that can be obtained by the company with the limited resources owned by
the company. The author using one of the methods in Linear Programming, namely
the Simplex Method assisted by WinQSB software as a method used to solve the
problem of minimizing or maximizing product combinations with two or more
variables.
The data used in this paper are primary and secondary data, including sales
data and a list of raw materials used in a day during February 2020 which were
obtained through interviews with business owners and directly observing how the
process of making one type of martabak.
After calculating using the simplex method and assisted by WinQSB
software, it is known that the optimal profit of the Martabak Bangka Super Bejo
business owner is advised to produce Cheese Chocolate Martabak without
producing Peanut Chocolate Martabak which will later get higher optimal profits
per day than without using analysis. The difference in company profits before using
the simplex method and after using the simplex method is large enough so that there
is an increase in the previous total profit.
