FIRST AID

SITUATIONAL TASK:
25-year-old patient. Seeking medical attention with headaches. The pain was
acute after sneezing, was at work. Somatic pathology is not noted. Neurological
status: consciousness clear, cranial innervation intact. No paresis, no deep
reflexes, no asymmetries, no pathological reflexes. Co-ordination is intact.
Occipital muscle rigidity 3 finger. Kerning symptom +.
QUESTIONS:
Assess the patient's condition:
Q.1 DIAGNOSIS:
1) Chief complaint: Headaches
2) Brief history of patient: Seeking medical attention with headaches.
3) Review of system: severe pain acute while sneezing. There is no paresis
and his coordination is also intact.
4) Physical assessment: Head-to-toe: Blood pressure Measurement, Heart
rate Measurement and Blood cultures.

Q.2 What is the patient’s main neurological syndrome?


 In keeping view the above assessments, these are the conditions of
meningitis
Q.3 Basic treatment of the disease.
  Antibiotics can't cure viral meningitis, and most cases improve on their
own in several weeks. Treatment of mild cases of viral meningitis
usually includes:
 Bed rest
 Plenty of fluids
 Over-the-counter pain medications to help reduce fever and relieve body
aches.
 Medication like antibiotics, steroids.
