TEST 1 - WRITING - PART 1

The first learning consists in imitation; there is no doubt of that. And because of that
it is necessary to take full account of what we see daily when analyzing our behavior. It
is a well-known fact that every single day that goes by we spend more and more time in
front of a television, and although it can constitute a good entertainment in many ways –
for example, when concerning talent shows–, its influence among youth can be terrible.

Everyone has its own judgement and is free to assume the best opinion at his or
her discretion. However, the early view of reality-like programs which, most of the times,
feature contestants whose manners of acting leave much to be desired, could result in
the adoption of those manners, either consciously or unconsciously, and especially
when the criterion of the viewer is still in its formation process.

I am referring to kids. In the case of young people, it is possible to take these

contestants as role models to follow instead of creating a self-being with a self-
judgement. The examples abound: it may not be the case of the kids on TV who have
behavior problems, but it could when they start to smoke because it its ‘cool’, as if it was
another new fashion.

It is clear that this kind of programs is not ‘naturally bad’. They are just, in a similar
way as publicity, targeted to an addressee, a rational person who can distinguish
between what he or she believes that is good and what they believe so.
