Reaction Paper about the status of SDG Promotion and Action as of the Moment
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of objectives set by an international
agreement to end poverty, protect the environment, and ensure that everyone lives in peace and
prosperity, both now and in the future. The goal is to provide a well-researched framework that is
politically acceptable, scientifically sound, and understandable to the general public. The
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer us the best chance to achieve the crucial
cooperation and alignment as we implement global plans to ensure a just, healthy, and
prosperous future for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren.
Despite the intuitive nature of interventions that give both immediate and long-term "co-
benefits" (such as sustainable transport and food systems, or greater access to green space), there
is a concerning lack of generalizable, quantifiable evidence on the levels of benefit that appeal to
policy makers, scientists, or practitioners. Globally, we should use the SDGs to highlight how the
objectives are interconnected and to highlight the specific, collaborative efforts that result in a
number of fruitful outcomes for a shared objective.
The list of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals that are related to the five Areas of
Critical Importance is as follows:
• People
1. No Poverty (Goal 1)
2. Zero Hunger (Goal 2)
3. Good Health and Well-being (Goal 3)
4. Quality Education (Goal 4)
5. Gender Equality (Goal 5)
6. Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6)
• Planet
1. Climate Action (Goal 13)
2. Life below Water (Goal 14)
3. Life on Land (Goal 15)
• Prosperity
1. Affordable Clean Energy (Goal 7)
2. Decent Work and Economic Development (Goal 8)
3. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (Goal 9)
4. Reduce Inequalities (Goal 10)
5. Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11)
6. Responsible consumption and production (Goal 12)
• Peace and Partnerships
1. Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (Goal 16)
2. Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17)

resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and production, support
ecosystem preservation, strengthen capacity for adaptation to climate change, extreme
weather, drought, flooding, and other disasters, and gradually improve land and water
quality for pastoralists and fishermen, including through secure and equal access to land,
other productive resources and inputs, expertise, financial services, markets, and
opportunities for value addition and non-farm jobs. Eliminate hunger and guarantee that
everyone has year-round access to healthy food, paying special attention to the
underprivileged and those in vulnerable situations, such as infants; Eliminate all forms of
malnutrition, including achieving by 2025 the globally agreed-upon targets for stunting
and wasting in children under the age of five; and Address the nutritional needs of
adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, and older people; Take action to ensure
