President Erdoğan called on the citizens, present at the event, to say ‘yes’ in the
referendum for ‘one nation, one flag and one homeland,’ and upon them shouting ‘yes’
with one voice in response, he urged the entire world to take heed of this voice arising
from Samsun, describing it as the sign of the end of all terrorist organizations including
the PKK and the FETO (Fetullah Terrorist Organization).
Underlining that out of the 484 motions of no confidence submitted at the Grand National
Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) since 1950, only four had been accepted, President Erdoğan
said: “That is to say, they are submitting a motion of no confidence even though
they
know it will not be accepted. Why so? Because they aim to block the parliament. We are
therefore lifting vote of no confidence. Vote of confidence will be given by the people, the
owner of ballot boxes, not by the Parliament. They will say either ‘stop’
or ‘continue.’”
President Erdoğan continued: “Yet, there is unfortunately a front of lies which is seeking
to overshadow our 14 years of achievements. No matter what they say, my nation knows
all the facts. My nation knows that Turkey has tripled its national income. My
nation
knows that Turkey has undertaken a quiet revolution, so to speak. My nation knows in
how short a time these roads have been built from here to Sarp border gate. My nation
knows very well the facilities built, ranging from airports to sport complexes.
And it will
be even better. We don’t find even these sufficient. We have achieved all of these despite
the main opposition. We will make this environment of stability and confidence
permanent so that our people will no longer experience similar problems. That
is the
reason for the referendum on April 16.”
The President thereafter visited Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, where he was briefed
about the ongoing works in the city.
