Module Description
Qualitative strategies for the DNP are used primarily when the project is
mainly focused on processes rather than outcomes. The DNP is interested
in understanding and meaning associated with various phenomena.
Qualitative research and projects are founded in the traditions of science
and uses an inductive reasoning approach. Qualitative methods provide rich
evaluation data for decision making. As with other scientific traditions, there
are common characteristics to all qualitative studies and projects that are
reflected in the essential elements of the research process. This module
provides information regarding those foundational essential elements.

1. Read Chapters 7, 9, and 13 in your Mateo & Foreman course text.
