Problem for Client Interviewing

Mr. Brownie is a renowned Rollywood film producer. He has produced multiple movies featuring
leading actors/actresses. In January 2022, Mr. Brownie took up a project for a blockbuster movie. He
decided to star Actress Kitty Standford, one of the most popular actresses of her generation.
Accordingly, he signed a contract with her. The shooting of the film went on for 3 months and the
movie was halfway complete. Just then in March 2022, Mr. Brownie decided to host a party, wherein
he invited all the members of the movie including the cast and also all the major media houses.
However, an argument took place during the party that involved Mr. Brownie, Ms. Kitty and her
mother. The next day Ms. Kitty walked out of the sets of the movie and communicated that she will
no longer be a part of the movie. Even after multiple attempts by Mr.Brownie, Ms. Kitty refused to
return. As the movie was halfway complete, Ms. Kitty couldn’t be replaced. Due to such a delay in
shooting, Mr. Brownie was incurring heavy losses as he was bearing the cost of the production team
and equipments. Further, Ms. Molly had an ongoing dispute with Mr.Brownie, due to some public
statements she made about the pattern of hiring of actresses by Mr. Brownie’s production house.
Now, Mr. Brownie has approached Truelegal to find a way to complete the shooting of the movie
and release it as soon as possible. He also wants to dispose off his dispute against Ms. Molly for
defamation.

Advice Mr. Brownie as per the principles of Law od Contract, Law of tort and Law of defamation.
