The table presents data on six types of TV programs, given the preference of
various age groups in a European in 2012.
Overall, Cartoons was the most favorite program, but this figure showed a decreased dramatically by age. On the other hand, the more people got older, the more News became popular. The 11 to 15 age group had the most interest in Cartoons among others, at 29%. However, this figure decreased continually by age and hit the low of 4% in the 21- to 25- year- olds. By contrast, News was the least favorite program in the youngest age group, just 6%, but this figure grow significantly when people got older, reaching 23% in the oldest age group. Feature films and sports saw a similar pattern. With 18% to 23% to 20% in feature films, and 22% to 18% to 21% in sports in the three age groups, respectively. More specifically, the 15- 20 years old in feature films had an equal percentage in News (the 21 – 15 years old), at 23%. TV dramas experienced an increase in ages, starting at 8% in the 11 to 15 age group, then rising by 5% in the oldest age group. Finally, Soap Opera faced a slight rise by age. 17% in the youth community was into the Soap Pera, increased by 2% in the oldest group, despite a minor deterioration in the 16 to 20 age group (account for 12%).
