Pergunta 3
Ok, onto the next question. How long have scientist been working on cloning? Anyone here
want to make a guess? (This guy right here says that it was over 100 years) ... ok let’s see

So they actually have been working on it for more or less 50 years. Let’s see this timeline.

In 1971 James D Watson, that was molecular biologist, publicized an essay that is called
“Moving Toward the Clonal Man" which means going towards a human clone.

In 1979 the first genetically identic mouse was created which is a great step towards this
cloning sector.

In 1996 the first mammal was cloned; her name is Dolly the sheep which we are going to see it
later on.

And we have the present. So that’s the end of this timeline and we can say that the scientists
have achieved great things for the cloning sector.

Pergunta 4
Now let’s see the question number 4… How is cloning done. We are going to view some steps
that are generalized because it Is kind of complicated to explain the whole thing.

Firstly we have to extract the DNA from a donor, then prepare an egg cell which will give the
“birth” to our clone. After that we need to insert somatic cell material, that is any kind of cell
except the sperm and egg cells.

The next pass is to convince the egg that it’s fertilized and implant it, because without them
convinced we can´t proceed. And then for the final step we just need to repeat until it is
effective, because in the first tries it is possible that it won’t work.
