Read the following passage and answer the questions below it.

I only meant to tell teacher Ezeagu that I am not mad. I had all my amulets
ready. And the machete? It took me twenty years to sharpen. There were the Indian
necklaces all over my body. They’ve stolen them, though. I had them on that
morning when I entered Oya market, and the market broke. I was only looking for
teacher Ezeagu and Ekemma. By the way, I did not tell you how mad I became on
my return. Teacher Ezeagu had married Ekemma! Married Ekemma of the open
teeth! That finished me. They already had five children. No! Teacher Ezeagu has
taken as much as the owner will know. I must do my cleansing quickly.
I will sweep the Oye clean in one sweep. Sweep away the footsteps of the
dance and charcoal on my heart. Ssh! I cannot go on. The one hour circuit is
complete, brrh! The place is a bit clean, though. Thank God I put the potent stuff
inside my pant. They would have robbed me of it too, Brrh! Brrh! They are coming
again, the swarm of flies, the armies of ants and the cocoons of bugs. This small
room is clean enough.
