EDUCATION IN HONDURAS

Every person has the right to free and full education in Honduras. A country without education is at
risk of losing the opportunity to grow and develop in many aspects. I think that education is the
single most important factor in the development of a nation. Throughout history, we have had great
remarkable pioneers in education such as the major philosophers Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.
Education must be given to every individual in society without any discrimination in race, religion,
age and political beliefs.

First of all, education must be regulated by the government which should make sure that every
citizen has free and full access to schooling in order for them to achieve the different academic
and personal goals without taking into consideration their race, the religion they practice, how old
they are or what type of political party they belong to.

Second, for a country to grow and develop in the fields of technology, knowledge must be
imparted without any kind of reserves. For instance, the government should improve the
education system year by year to avoid remaining behind developed nations where there is
enough freedom and equality to study in any branch of education. There are countries where the
religious authorities support the state education system; an activity that started in the XVIII
century when catholic priests worked as teachers for children in rural areas.

Last but not least, all citizens in a society must be able to fulfill their needs of education being
granted scholarships, public programs or financial aid in case they do not have access to public
education or lack a source of personal income.

To summarize the above, there must be a balance in the legislation of every country in the world
so every human being can be taught in accordance to the rights they have without considering
where they are from, if they are young or old, black or white, rich or poor, Christian or catholic,
socialist or communist.
