What is SWING TRADING?
Swing trading involves taking trades that
last a couple of days up to several
months in order to profit from an
anticipated price move.

Swing trading exposes a trader to

overnight and weekend risk, where the
price could gap and open the following
session at a substantially different price.

IS THIS SO SIMPLE?
When trading swings, it is essential we stay into that the
swings that trend, not swing that trade into consolidation!
Swing Trading needs Trend, Momentum & Volume to back a price swing to get high-
quality swing setups.

Using price action and some indicators can be a very effective way to filter out the
best swing.

But we have to choose the right indicators!

Before we dive deep into the methodology, let's discuss INDICATORS!

Indicators
Indicators we will be using:

ADX
On Balance Volume
ADX is used to quantify trend strength. ADX
calculations are based on a moving average of
price range expansion over a given period of
time. The default setting is 14 bars, although
other time periods can be used.
ADX values help traders identify the strongest
and most profitable trends to trade. The values
are also important for distinguishing between
trending and non-trending conditions. Many
traders will use ADX readings above 20 - 25 to
suggest that the trend is strong enough
for trend-trading strategies. Conversely,
when ADX is below 20 - 25, many will avoid
trend-trading strategies.
On Balance Volume:
The on-balance volume (OBV) is a technical
momentum indicator, using volume changes
to make price predictions.
OBV shows crowd sentiment that can predict
a bullish or bearish outcome.
The theory behind OBV is based on the
distinction between smart money – namely,
institutional investors – and less
sophisticated retail investors. As smart
money begin to buy into an issue that retail
investors are selling, volume may increase
even as the price remains relatively level.
