The NSTP program at FEU is only seminars and community service, because as stated
during the orientation, FEU is a non-military private school, the NSTP program that the
institution and its branches provide trains students to be reserve emergency respondents during
times of calamities and crises, these skills are invaluable to the country as it will benefit
everyone by producing deployable warm bodies that the OCD could possibly deploy into action,
should the country need them. During the first semester of the first year of undergraduate studies,
NSTP1 is almost solely seminars, of course these get boring fast, especially if the students are
just going to listen and listen, they may also lose interest and or fall asleep if there are no
interactive activities between the facilitator and the students, in my opinion the way to make
NSTP a bit more bearable and maybe even fun is if there are activities that involves the students
to move from their chairs and be awakened mentally, an example of this is the NSTP clapping
cheer during the beginning of the seminare, it helped students loosen up a bit and actually enjoy
the session even if it were just for a few minutes, it had indeed boosted the morale of students to
pay proper attention to the following speakers of the orientation program.
