In addition to awakening the Filipino consciousness, Noli Me Tangere also

provided the foundation for a demand for independence. I am convinced that the
lessons portrayed in Rizal's renowned novel would continue to be relevant,
particularly in today's society. The concept of Noli Me Tangere encourages
nationalism, true caring for the sovereign land, protecting the rights of the
unfortunate, and disrupting societal constructs; and as tragic as it may sound,
today's society seems to overlook this vital message.
