What are the differences of osmosis and diffusion?
In contrast to diffusion, which doesn't require a semipermeable barrier, osmosis occurs across a semipermeable membrane. The process of osmosis only occurs in liquids, whereas diffusion occurs in all three forms of matter (solid, liquid, and gas). In contrast to osmosis, which is dependent on the mixture's solute potential, diffusion is independent of this property.
Part 1 Gummy bear Osmosis
In this experiment the gummy bear will either absorb more water and grow or shrink, according to the solutes we’ve added to the water. Because of osmosis, I assume that the gummy bear left in plain water will absorb water and grow in weight and size. The gummy bear we’ve placed in salt water will shrink in weight and size. There will be more sugar inside the gummy bear in plain water therefore water will pass through the gummy and be absorbed causing it to grow. On the contrary, the solute of salt in the water will cause water to leave the gummy bear causing it to shrink.
Part 2 Banana Nucleic acid
According to my understanding of the experiment, the main focus is on precipitation, which is a sign of things falling to the ground or the chemical reaction that occurs when a solid settles into or falls into a solution. When alcohol and DNA are combined, the DNA precipitates the mucous fibers, which are broken down by the banana cells. Thereafter, deoxyribonucleic acid was created as a genetic information-encoding molecule.
