MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

“Competence coupled with commitment and passion in teaching can pave the way to make a difference in
the field of teaching”
Never in my nocturnal dream to become a teacher but I had to grab it, accept it and grasp it. I
don’t know if I have the capacity and patience to deal with learners who have different behavior and
culture. I take it as a challenge and considered also as an opportunity to discover my weaknesses to be
improved and my skills to be enhanced.
I as a teacher, I should consider the proper way of dealing with diverse learners, encompassing
the cultural background, norms and status in life. I make sure that nobody is neglected in the sense that
all of my pupils are given the chance to share their ideas and perceptions during class discussions. I will
provide them varied activities such as cooperative learning strategies, approaches, and methodologies on
the level of my learner’s capabilities.
With my ample functions and obligations as an educator, the achievement of my pupils and
smiles on their faces after my class discussions is an indicator that I should be more responsible and be
motivated to continue my mission, vocation, and profession.
I believe that all the pupils are capable of learning and that effective teacher can reach every
pupil. Pupils should not be taught of a mindless individuals just waiting to be filled with knowledge but
rather should be always involve in the teaching – learning process. Furthermore, pupils should be viewed
as individuals who can contribute to the classroom, sharing and gaining knowledge from each other. An
education is not solely academic, I must also educate my pupils mentally by teaching them the skills
needed to solve problems and socially by teaching them the skills needed to communicate and work
productively with others.
