Problem: 

 A, B and C are solidary debtors to X and Y (solidary creditors) in the


amount of PhP600,000.00.
1. How much is the liability of each solidary debtor to each of the solidary creditor?
Explain your answer.
- The liability of each solidary debtor to each of the solidary creditor will be 600,000
pesos. Why? Because in solidary obligation, the creditors have the right to demand
from of the debtors the full or entire compliance of the obligation, and any of the
debtors may extinguished the obligation by fully paying the amount due which is the
600,000.
2. Assuming solidary debtor A paid solidary creditor X, what is the effect on the
obligation?
- The obligation will be extinguished if debtor A fully paid 600,000 pesos to creditor X
because it is accordance to the law (Article 1215) since it’s a solidary obligation.
     What is the right acquired by solidary debtor A after complying with the obligation? 
- The right acquired by solidary debtor A after complying the obligation is the right
to be reimburse. Debtor A may claim from the other debtors (B and C) their
shares with interest (Article 1217).
     On the other hand, what is the obligation of solidary creditor X to the other creditor?
- The obligation of solidary creditor X to solidary creditor Y is the duty to give Y his
agreed amount of share in 600,000 pesos.
     EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWERS.
 
Problem:  MM (debtor) binds himself to deliver to PP (creditor) a brand new 60
inch. Samsung t.v. set, or a Macbook Pro laptop,  or a two-door Samsung
refrigerator. Prior to the date of delivery, MM's Macbook Pro laptop was stolen. 
1. What is the effect of the loss of the laptop to the obligation of MM? Explain your
answer.
- MM the debtor will not be liable because he has the right of choice to choose
other prestations on what to deliver to PP the creditor. The obligation will also be
extinguished due to fortuitous event.
2. What if the Macbook Pro laptop was lost due to the fault of MM, what is the effect
on his obligation to PP? Explain your answer.
- If the object was lost due to the fault of the debtor, MM is still not liable for that
because he can still choose other objects to deliver other than the Macbook Pro
since the debtor has the right of choice. If the creditor has the right of choice, the
debtor will be liable for all the damages, and the creditor can still choose other
objects he wants.
