Pumping Line Chapter 6

Note: It is possible the heads remain stuck on the crankcase. You must absolutely try to unstick the
heads with your hands only. If this seems really impossible, then try with a tool (a screw-
driver), but do it very carefully without marking the contact surfaces.

Unscrew the 8 screws of the lid, separate lids from heads.

6.2.2.1.2 Cleaning the Heads

Clean the lids with an abrasive sponge or a fine emery paper, inside as well as outside. Finish with a clean
rag soaked with alcohol.

Clean the inside of the head (cylinder head) with the plastic stick given in the maintenance kit. You must
scrape the Teflon coating, only with this tool, so as to eliminate all traces or deposits.

Never use a metallic, abrasive or blunt tool that would irremediably destroy the Teflon
coating of the cylinder head!
