1. COMMON NOUN:
Common noun is used to name people, places or things in general. It
refers to the class or type of person or thing without being specific.
Ex: girl, city, animal, house, food.

2. PROPER NOUN:
Proper noun is used to name a specific person, place or thing. Proper
noun begins with a capital letter.
Ex: John, London, Pluto, France.

3. ABSTRACT NOUN:
Abstract noun has no physical existence. They refer to ideas, emotions
and concepts that you cannot see, touch, hear, smell or taste.
Ex: love, time, fear, freedom.

4. COMPOUND NOUN:
Compound noun is formed by joining two or more words. They can be
written as one word, joined by a hyphen or written as separate words.
Ex: rainfall, son-in-law, credit card.

5. COLLECTIVE NOUN:
Collective noun refers to a set of group of people, animal or things.
They are often followed by plural noun.
Ex: bunch of flowers, pack of wolves, band of musicians.
6. COUNTABLE NOUN:
Countable nouns are nouns that can be counted and can have a singular
and plural form.
Ex: car, desk, cup, house, bike.

7. UNCOUNTABLE NOUN:
Uncountable nouns are nouns that cannot be counted.
They often refer to substances, liquids and abstract ideas.
Ex: wood, milk, air, happiness.

8. MATERIAL NOUN:
Material noun is a noun that refers to a material or substance from
which things are made.
Ex: silver, gold, iron, cotton, plastic.
