HORMONES

The Science Side of

Hormones
The Emotional Side
plant and animal
hormones
what's the difference?

Animal hormones travel through

the body through the blood.
They're also produced in glands,
unlike plant hormones. Their
targets can be distant, or very
far away.

While animal hormones travel

through the blood, plant hormones
travel through the xylem and the
phloem. Their targets are also
mostly local, and they aren't
produced in special glands.
We've all asked this question but didn't

WHAT really think much about it. If I'd been

asked, I'd answer it in a cheesy manner.
I'd say what happens when you fall in

HAPPENS
love is that you get  these
unexplainable butterflies in your
stomach, you get this random
giddiness, as giddy as a 12-year old

IF YOU school girl, and you find yourself

thinking about them a lot. But what
really happens when you fall in love?

FALL IN Surely there's a scientific explanation

for the various things that's happening
to you. Listed on the side are the
various things that happen when you

LOVE? fall in love, and the scientific

explanation for all these things.
Adrenaline and
norepinephrine
are released,
which give you
sweaty palms.

You get butterflies in your stomach

because of a hormone called
CORTISOL, which contracts the
blood vessels around the stomach.

Adrenaline and
norepinephrine
are released,
which give you a
rapid heart beat

When you kiss, you feel less

stressed, because your body
releases endorphins and
dopamine, which make you
feel good.
