Reading comprehension Part 7: Single passages
Here is some information about TOEIC two skills Part 7: Single passages that you should bear in mind.
Pre-task 2  This part contains 29 questions.
 You will read a selection of texts. Each text is followed by several questions.
 Read the questions first to know exactly what information you need to find in the text.
 Try to answer every question to the best of your ability. Some questions are easier to answer.
If you answer them first, you can get information that can help you answer the more difficult
ones more quickly.
 Questions that require specific information can be reasonably quick to answer.
 Choose “key words” (nouns and verbs) in the questions to help you understand the
information you need to find in the passage.
 Work carefully and quickly. If you do not know the answer to a question, mark the “Mark for
review” icon and come back to it later.
 Scan the passage for the key words/ideas, then choose the best answer choice.
 In inference questions, the answer will not be stated directly in the passage. Look for words or
ideas in the passage related to the things noted in each answer choice.
5 minutes  Try to spend no more than 60 seconds on each question. If you don’t know the answer, guess
and move on. If you have time at the end, you can use the review button.

TOEIC two skills reading comprehension part 7: Reading passages
Here are some tips for you:
Post- task
Try to read in English as often as possible. A little bit every day or two
helps a lot. Go back and re-read texts a second time and a third time. This
helps to familiarize you with the use of English in real sentences.

When you read charts, tables and forms, pay attention to notes or extra
information at the bottom.

When a question gives you multiple answers to choose from, try to

answer the question without looking at the answers first. Then look at the
answers and check which one matches your prediction.
