2022 TEENS 4 ORAL EXAM GUIDELINES

The oral exam will be a one-to-one interview between a candidate and an


examining board or one examiner only. The exam will consist of two parts:

The first part will revolve around questions posed by the examiner as part of a
discussion on the topics presented in the course bibliography.

Students are expected to be able to


• Talk about
o teenage clothes and fashion
o transport and travel
o part-time jobs
o obligations at home and at school
o life experiences and unfinished actions
o music
o predictions
o extreme weather and natural disasters
o imaginary situations (in the present)
o the Internet, computer/video games and shopping online
o friends
o communication in the 21st century
o the media
• Speculate about the present
• Give opinions, agree and disagree

The second part will consist of a discussion with or questions posed by the

examiner about A Puzzle for Logan (plot, characters, opinion).

In all cases, we expect students to give extended and spontaneous answers to keep the
conversation going; not simply Yes or No - Yes, I do / No, I don’t, etc.
