TYPES OF JURISDICTIONS:

1. JURISDICTION OVER THE SUBJECT MATTER:


Is the power to hear and determine the general class to which the proceedings in question
belong.
2. TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION
The power of the court to inquire and procced with the trial of the matter that is presented
before it.
3. PERSONAL JURISDICTION
The power that a court has, to make a decision over the person.
4. LIMITED JURISDICTION
Is the court’s jurisdiction is the court’s jurisdiction only on certain types of cases.
5. GENERAL JURISDICTION
Is a court’s authority to hear any type of case which is not vested in another court.

JURISDICTION - Jurisdiction is defined as the power and authority of a court to hear, try, and
decide a case.
