The ancient people of Wales were called Celts. They came to Britain from the continent more

The Welsh language is one of the oldest Celtic languages that people still speak today. Its
alphabet is made up of 28 letters and doesn’t have some of the English alphabet letters such as
X and Z. In Wales, only 20% of the people speak Welsh. Lots of people speak both English
and Welsh. You can even hear people speak Welsh in the province of Patagonia in southern
Argentina.
Is Welsh a dying language? At the beginning of the 20th century it certainly was. Now the
Welsh people are trying to help it live. There is Welsh Radio and TV. Welsh pupils study
Welsh at school. And they enjoy it a lot!
