Results

Our study included 1127 patients from March 2020 to June 2022. The total number of
discharged patients include 972 patients and 155 patients were deceased.
It included 740 male patients and 387 female patients out of which there were 114 deaths in
male and 41 deaths in female.
There were 52 patients out of which 11 died who are aged less than 40 years, 475 patients out
of which 47 died between 40 to 60 years and 600 out of which 97 patients who were more
than 60 years old.
The total number of cases admitted in mild ward are 709 patients, while 300 patients were
admitted in the moderate ward and 34 patients were admitted in severe ward. The total
number of cases admitted in ICU were 84 patients respectively. There were 21, 57, 17 and 60
deaths in mild, moderate, severe wards and ICU respectively.
Among 356 patients who were hospitalised for more than 7 days, there were 77 deaths and
among 771 patients who were hospitalised for 7 or less days, there were 78 deaths
respectively.
There were totally 1039 COVID-19 vaccinated patients and 88 patients were not vaccinated
for COVID-19. Among those who did not get 1st dose vaccination 148 died and among those
who got vaccinated, 7 died.
There were 811 patients without pre-existing cardiovascular disease in which 53 died and 316
patients with the disease in which 102 died.
Out of 126 patients with CAD 19 died and out of 1001 patients without CAD, 136 died.
About 53 patients had history suggestive of angina out of which 4 died and the rest 1074
patients did not have angina out of which 151 died.
There were 10 patients with CCF out of which 2 died and 1117 patients did not have CCF out
of which 153 died. There were 5 patients with PVD which included 1 death and 1122 without
PVD which included 154 deaths.
About 515 patients had hypertension out of which 88 died and 612 patients without
hypertension which included 67 deaths.
There were 600 diabetic patients which included 100 deaths and 527 non diabetic patients
which included 55 deaths.
There were 8 deaths among 88 obese patients and 64 deaths among 659 non obese patients.
Out of 36 CVA patients, 15 died and out of 1091 CVA patients 140 deceased. Out of 16
patients who did tobacco smoking, 2 died and out of 1111 non-smokers 153 died. There were
2 patients with positive family history of CVD with no deaths and 155 deaths without family
history of CVD.
There were 43 CKD patients which included 21 deaths and 134 deaths among 1084 non CKD
patients.
