The Higaonon or binukid language has a varying pronunciation depending on the location or the ancestral
domain. Here in mainland Claveria, especially in communities nearby Bukidnon areas, the pronunciation of
the symbol /e/ is similar to the English pronunciation of the /oo/ as in the word “look”. The Higaonon word
“ilek” (armpit) is used to exemplify this vowel.
