“THE USE OF INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION

IN LEARNING ENGLISH”

Instructional media is learning media, a supporting technology that can be used for
learning purposes. Or it can also be interpreted as a communication tool used to provide
information from one source to students. Instructional media encouraging the teachers and
the learners in delivering the subject materials, helping the learners to understand the subject
materials, facilitating the learners in learning activities, and avoiding the learners. Associated
with learning, media is interpreted as a communication tool used in the learning process to
carry information in the form of teaching material from the teacher to students so that
students become more interested in participating in learning activities. This learning support
media can be in the form of printed media, audio media, audio visual media, interactive
multimedia or E-learning. So instructional materials act as a set of learning materials that are
systematically arranged, while instructional media is a communication tool used to help
deliver lessons in order to achieve the objectives of instructional materials that help teachers
make it easier to teach students, and can enrich students' insights. The teacher also have to
design a good strategy of teaching to create a more meaningful, more alive, and more
enjoyable class. To create this condition, they should be creative and innovative in handling
their class, developing the relevant teaching materials, and selecting the appropriate
instructional media, so instructional media is needed in the classroom to achieve learning
goals in the classroom and learning objectives can be achieved successfully.
