Alcott Elementary Mission

Alcott Elementary will provide a positive learning environment for each student.
We are committed to promoting the highest educational, instructional, behavioral,
and social standards through positive relationships, active engagement, and
collaboration within our learning community.

Alcott Elementary Vision

Students are actively engaged in learning and collaborating within a learning

community that includes peers, families, staff, and community resources.

A variety of academic and social opportunities exist inside and outside the
school day that promote positive relationships between all students, staff, and
families.

Students are given equal opportunities to learn through differentiation,

accommodations, and/or modifications in order to be successful at achieving
their individual goals.

A positive climate is enhanced through high behavioral and social expectations,

which models a safe and respectful environment for all.

High expectations are established through clearly stated learning objectives.

Analysis of student data informs and guides instruction.  Students and staff are
responsible for knowing the learning goals/targets, tracking progress, and
celebrating growth.

Our Collective Commitments

 I will be a positive, contributing member of my collaborative team and the

staff as a whole.
 I will teach the essential standards of our agreed upon curriculum.
 I will work together with my colleagues to provide a supportive culture
where I can engage in productive conflict and still feel valued.
 I will be transparent about student progress and behaviors in a positive
manner.
 I will engage in meaningful, job-embedded staff development to enhance
my professional skills and to continue to grow as a professional learning
community.
 I will consider the whole child (academic, behavioral, social/emotional) and
individual needs as decisions are made for students.
 I will use evidence of student learning on an ongoing basis through
classroom and team developed common formative assessments. 
 I will follow our 3 school goals: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
