To the honourable judges and all the beloved viewers.

Before I deliver this speech, let us all give thanks to our Mighty Lord for blessing us. Thus, we are
able to listen and witness to this speech.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we know, English is the International Language of this world. Nations can understand each other
in English, since it is the language that has been settled to unify us. We can communicate and share
insights with people all around the globe using English.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Like I’ve mentioned, learning English grants us a lot of benefits, especially in this pandemic and
globalized technology era. While going through pandemic, technology and communications are also
uprising. We are living in an era where gaining information and knowledge is getting much easier
than ever. Communications also have undergone a significant improvement. The uprise of social
media increases the flow of information and communication with people around the world. The
changes we are experiencing is inevitable. We must figure out a way to keep up with the changes.
One of which is by learning English. Since English is an International Language, it is going to be
common for people to communicate with English. Thus, we must be able to understand and speak
English.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Learning English like I’ve said it’s very important for us. But sometimes we may go through a state
of boredom. I know that sometimes we reflect and try to think, “Why do we need to learn English?”,
“Why can we just speak Indonesian ?”. But we should also realize that English is going to assist us by
a lot in our daily lives. I know that it’s hard… It was never easy for me too, but we must never give
up. I’ve heard a saying, in a hazy forest don’t try to think of the obstacles in 10-20 meters ahead.
However, focus on what lies in 2-3 meters ahead… My point is we can try to learn English step-by-
step. Try to enrich your vocabularies by reading books in English, while still learning grammar from
textbooks or YouTube videos.

As I’ve said, gaining information is easier for us today. Learning English has been made much easier
by the presence of social media. It’s now our dedication that matters, whether we want to get out of
our comfort zone and learn English or stay in our comfort zone and struggle with the changes.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are approaching the end of this speech. Thank you very much for listening to this speech. I
sincerely appreciate it. At last, I have one thing to say, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way, kind of
beautiful”. Whether you want to learn English is your choice, but if you chose to learn, I believe that
there’s a way for you. You just need to go on and never give up. Thank you
