ABSTRACT

The waste is something useless, doesn’t to use, dislike or something that

needs of waste by human activities and it doesn’t happen by itself. The waste
management in Kalimantan Barat, especially Sambas district from year by year is
getting increase. The waste produced by some of TPS (Tempat Sampah
Sementara Or Temporary Garbage Disposai Place) spot in districts, they are Tebas
districts consists 2 TPS spots, Semparuk districts 2 TPS spots, and the most of
spot is Pemangkat and Salatiga which consists 7 TPS SPOTS. The factors that
influence of waste management in Harapan Village Pemangkat districts Sambas
district are: knowladge, attitude, behavior, promotion of waste management by
operators.
The study aimed to related the factors that influence of waste management
in Harapan Village Pemangkat districts Sambas District.
This study used survey reaserch whit cross sectional design. Analysis data
using Chi-square test whit a confidence level, of 95%.
The result showed that the level of knowladge in waste management in
Harapan Village Pemangkat districts Sambas district is p value =0.005, and p
value=0,000 that means it is smaller that 0,05 so that Ho is rejected. The reletion
between attitude and behavior and heatlh promotion by waste management in
Harapan Village Pemangkat districts Sambas District using Chi-square test is p
vallue=0,545 and p value=0,372 that means it is biggest than 0,05 so that Ho is
accepted.
Conclusion of the study is there is a corelation between knowladge and
behavior by waste management in Harapan Village Pemangkat districts Sambas
district.
