General Information

Phase assignment: The measurement inputs

may not be exchanged. I.e. if, for example, the
voltage clips for the first phase are connected
to voltage input U1, the current clamp pertai-
ning to this phase must be connected to cur-
rent input I1. Observe the markings of the
clamp adapters and the connection field.

Before connecting the test leads, determine

the neutral conductor for N input using an ap-
propriate measurement instrument

The test leads and test probes may only be tou-

ched at the handles provided for this purpose.
Any direct contact with the test probes must
imperatively be avoided.

The measurement inputs U1, U2, and U3 are

galvanically connected. Input N is the common
reference point. Measurement inputs which
are not required may not be connected!

to be applied that they are connected to a mea- If a clamp is connected in the opposite direc-

5.5.3.2 Harmonics Register: Harmonics Measurement

This window is used to perform simple harmonics measurements up to the 31st harmonics.

The total value of the total harmonic distortion in percent is calculated on the basis of the following formula:
100 A( f 2 ) 2 + A ( f 3) 2 +... + A( fN ) 2
Formel: %THD =
A( f 1)
whereby A(f1) = basic harmonics,
A(fN) = harmonics bearing the number N

Selection can be made of the number of harmonics (N) for calculating the THD.

Performing the harmonics measurements

If the connection to the Power Analyzer is activated, the measurement is started automatically. Measu-
rements are performed at a sampling rate of approx. 3 s.

 Select the desired input signal via the arrow keys or by means of the direct selection by clicking into the
black display window within the "load graph" field.

Selection can be made amongth the following input signals:

V1 = voltage to phase L1
V2 = voltage to phase L2
V3 = voltage to phase L3
I1 = current to phase L1
I2 = current to phase L2
I3 = current to phase L3

Input I4 does not allow harmonics measurements.

33
Software

Apart for frequency measurement, the instrument can only be used for the input frequency range of 50
Hz.

If the message "NaN" appears in one window, no valid value is available.

"Harmonics" field – number of harmonics for the calculation of THD: the arrow keys can be used to select the
last desired harmonics or the entry can be directly made or modified within the display field. Example: when
selecting 5, the total THD value between number 1 and 5 is calculated. The “harmoncis bearing number 1” is
identical to the basic wave.

The signification of the displayed windows is as follows:

• "Analysis value" field
• TRMS: true rms value of the input signal
• THD%: total value of harmonics distortion

"ORD" field – ordinary number of the harmonics:

• The desired harmonics can be selected using the arrow keys.

When clicking the number, a window for direct harmonics selection is opened.

6.0 Maintenance
When using the instrument in compliance with the
instruction manual, no special maintenance is re-
quired.

6.1 Cleaning
If the instrument is dirty after daily usage, it is advi-
sed to clean it by using a humid cloth and a mild
household detergent
