For example, lots of things can be read, lots of animals are dogs, and lots of things are heavy. . A universal also has a property shared by two or more particulars. On the contrary, a particular is simply a reference to a unique entity’s characteristic. Particulars exhibit universal qualities while retaining their unique identities, and so universals are broad categories of classes of things, whereas particulars are individual instantiations of more than one universal quality.
